#2 Sacral/Spleen Chakra

This chakra center, located in the lower abdominal region, deals with your sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure, intimacy, sexuality, and creativity.

#1 Root/Base Chakra

This chakra center, located in the spine or tailbone, deals with your sense of security and survival (housing, job, relationships, finances, etc.) It is about your foundation, or point of feeling grounded.

Imagine the chakra system as a stream that flows smoothly from the top of the stream to the end. Now imagine that same stream filled with rocks, branches, and leaves that block the path of the water’s flow. The water no longer flows smoothly. It meets resistance as it hits against the debris and flows around the obstacles or splashes over the tops. The chakra system, when healthy, is a free flowing channel of life energy much like the beautiful stream with gently flowing water. The chakra system, when not healthy is in need of debris clearing to get it back into balance.

When one part of a chakra center is out of sync it may eventually effect its other parts and possibly its neighboring chakra. When a chakra center is out of balance it generally means that it is over-active or under-active, or possibly congested or blocked. If this happens it is usually felt on a mental, emotional or physical level.

So what can we do to keep the stream flowing soothingly? A healthy, balanced chakra system can be achieved through the practice of some of the following:

• POSITIVE THINKING

• POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

• GRATITUDE

• THANKFULNESS

• MEDITATION

• VISUALIZATION

• MUSIC/SOUND

• AROMA THERAPY

• CRYSTAL THERAPY

• NATURE

• MASSAGE

• ACUPUNTURE

• REFLEXOLOGY

• COLOR THERAPY

• ENERGY HEALING (REIKI)

Negative thoughts create negative emotions. Spend a few minutes each day speaking positive affirmations. Practice positive thinking and make a point of cultivating friendships with positive, like- minded people. Be thankful for your job, family, friends, home, pets, and the countless other blessings in your life. Express gratitude for all of these blessings. Let your words be positive and joyous. Meditate and visualize the life you want. Surround yourself with healing music and sounds, whether that be classical, jazz, rock, or the wind chimes on your patio. Surround yourself with the scent of candles, incense, an herb garden, fresh flowers, or essential oils. Take a class on crystal therapy and become familiar with the healing properties of crystals. Spend time in nature. Breathe in the smell of rain. Feel the sunrays on your face or the wind caressing your skin. Hug a tree! Hug a cactus…carefully! And of course…..see your Reiki practitioner!
